Genealogy notes for family:
Daniel's parents are so far unproven. I've been unable to locate his birth record.
Daniel stated in the 1850, 1860 and 1880 censuses that he was born in Connecticut. In 1880 he listed both his parents as born in Connecticut, as well.
Notes found in an old family box of photographs and obituary clippings mention a Daniel Lacy in the town of Old Fairfield, Fairfield County, CT (1790 Federal Census). That Daniel is Capt. Daniel Lacey of the Revolutionary War. But so far we haven't been able to verify a connection, and the notes may have only been guesswork by a former family genealogist.

DNA testing:
If any other descendants of Daniel take Ancestry.com's new autosomal DNA test, please contact me to compare results. We should come up as a close cousin match, and could connect through their system.
Also please consider uploading your raw file to gedmatch.com, as we could then compare actual segments and map them to this family.
