Harold R. Light, 71, died unexpectedly at 6:30 AM Friday (April 4, 2003), at Holston Valley Medical Center of a heart attack.

Harold was born in Sullivan County. He graduated from Sullivan High School, and served in the U. S. Navy from 1950 to 1954.

He retired from Tennessee Eastman Company in 1992, after 37 years of service.

Mr. Light was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta Wooten; parents, Rev. Roland Light and Mary Kate Light; one sister, Edith Light Cox; and two brothers, Melvin G. Light, and Stewart O. Light.

Surviving Harold are his wife, Wanda Fields Light; two stepsons and their wives, Mark and Lisa Fields, Kingsport, Jon and Debbie Fields, Charleston, SC; three step-grandsons, Justin Fields, Tyler Fields, and Cameron Fields; sister in law, Valdene Light, Cookeville, TN; two nieces, Melba Edwards, and Pat Douthat, both of Kingsport.

Calling hours are from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Oak Hill Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:30 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Toney and the Rev. David Phipps officiating.

Entombment will be conducted following the service in the Oak Hill Mausoleum.
