There is a very worn masonic symbol on the top of his stone. Jeremiah was the original land owner for this cemetery in Sheffield township, Tippecanoe Co. Indiana.
Restored as a memorial to the Leaming family April 2005.

Jeremiah, son of Judah & Thankful (Tuttle) Leaming, was born in CT, and moved with his parents to Scholarie Co. NY; later settling in Tippecanoe Co. IN per 1835 records, which is about 200 miles south of LaPorte, IN, where his brother Judah was then living. Jeremiah married first Amanda Kellogg, and second Abigail Lee. Known children are: George (1806-1879), Alonzo, and Jeremiah.
Jeremiah was buried on his farm where 3 of his grandchildren had been interred: Amanda (1842-1844), John (1844-1846) and Curtis (1836-1854); children of his son George and wife Juliett Mallory.
