Ralph P. Seurer

Ralph Seurer, 84, of New Prague, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2008 at Mala Strana Nursing Home in New Prague.

Ralph was born in New Market on Jan. 13, 1924 to Henry and Mary (Giesen) Seurer and was a lifelong resident of the New Prague area. He attended New Market Catholic School and New Prague High School. Ralph and Dorothy M. Pauly were married Nov. 10, 1945 at St. Benedict, Minn. He was owner/operator of Seurer Trucking until 1964 at which time he was employed as a field supervisor for A.M.P.I. He enjoyed classic cars, fishing and hunting. Ralph had a hobby farm and loved farming and raising horses.

Besides his wife, Dorothy (May 27, 1989), he was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Norbert Seurer, Vernon Seurer, Ray Seurer, Leonard Seurer; sister, Verena Wacker; sister-in-law, Verna Seurer; son-in-law, Bruce Bohnsack.

Survivors include children, Karen (Gary) Barclay, Leon Seurer, Randy (Marlene) Seurer, Patti (Jim) Mahowald, Debe Bohnsack; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Edwin (Josephine) Seurer of Farmington, Francis (Lorene) Seurer of Prior Lake, Hank Seurer of Apple Valley; sisters, Lucille (Alton) Scheffler of Lakeville Marilyn (Micky) Scholl of Northfield; brother-in-law, Sylvester Wacker of Arizona; sister-in-laws, Laverne Seurer of Lakeville, Rosie Seurer of New Market; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Friday, Feb. 22, from 4-8 p.m. and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Bruzek Funeral Home, 610 East Main Street, New Prague.

Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church, New Prague, with the Rev. Kevin Clinton officiating. Pallbearers are his grandchildren: Aaron Barclay, Chad Barclay, Scott Seurer, Becky Dirkson, Glen Seurer, Randy Seurer, Kim Lee, Pete Mahowald, Julie Hull, Amber Mahowald, Jess Bohnsack, AshLee Bohnsack, and Brittany Bohnsack.
