Elizabeth A. "Betty" Pearson, 93, of Monticello, died at 4:32 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at White Oaks Health Campus in Monticello.
She was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late William J. and Myrtle Spraker Ward. She graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1935.
Her marriage to Bernal R. Pearson was on June 1, 1938, in Marion. They owned and operated Standard Oil Agency in Monticello, and she was the bookkeeper and dispatcher for the company; both retired in 1971.
Mrs. Pearson was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church, where she taught children's Sunday school and was involved with the church circles. She was a 45-year charter member of Gideons of Monticello and a member of Bunco Club.
She enjoyed cooking and taking food to neighbors, reading, swimming, boating and walking at the Gulf of Mexico.
Surviving are her husband and a daughter, Cheryl Spradlin (husband: John) of Westerville, Ohio.
Services are Friday in Monticello.
