Morris "Moe" Duane Thompson, 57, Indianapolis, passed away July 12, 2011. He was born June 3, 1954 in Monticello, Kentucky to Cora Anderson. Moe graduated from Warren Central High School in the Class of 1972 and served his country in the U. S. Navy. He then married Jessica Lynn Smock, June 30, 1975. Moe was a union painter for 32 years, retiring in 2010 from Painter's Union Local #47. Moe and Jessica also owned the Whistle Stop Inn in downtown Indianapolis along with their business partner, Steve Hackworth. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 E. Washington St. Moe is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jessica L. Thompson; daughter, Summer Starr Eaton; son-in-law, Markus D. Eaton; Norman D. McNeely, whom Moe considered as a son; grandchildren, Sydnee, Justice, Hayden, Noah, Wyatt, Kendel, and Sienna; mother, Cora Justice; two brothers, Joseph "Skip" Hancock, wife Corrie, and Henri Hoffman, wife Jenny; cousin, Rex Anderson, wife Diane; very special mother-in-law, Mrs. Aurora Smock; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Glen and Thelma Smock, Jeff and Erin Couch, Debbie Spizale, Roger and Glenda Craig, Deanna Murphy and Tina Smock. He dearly loved all of his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death was his father-in-law, Jerome G. Smock, and his brother-in-law, Jerry Smock.
