May S. Burns, 88, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in Port Huron Hospital. She was born October 6, 1919 in Harbor Springs, MI to the late Henry Ketels and Mary Ketels.

May Ketels married Robert W. Burns on April 18, 1965 in Port Huron. May received a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and a life member of the Port Huron Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of D.A.R. and a past member of the League of Women Voters.

May Burns was survived by her husband, Robert W. Burns; two daughters, Leona (Norman) Wingard of Grand Junction, CO and Barbara (Richard) Hamilton of Pewaukee, WI; son, Ronald (Marian) Maes of Ray, MI; six granddaughters, Cheryl (Rodney) Winter, Cherie (Jerome) Vangheluwe, Brenda (Brian) McKeen, Janine (Greg) Frank, Christina (Scott) Williams and Susan Maes; three grandsons, Jeffrey (Margaret) Wingard, Rocky (Rochelle) Maes and Michael Maes; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Seena Cesefske and Eleanor (Richard) Smith; brother, Henry (Linda) Ketels; sister-in-law, Dorothy Burns and many nieces and nephews.

May S. Burns was preceded in death by her son Darwin Maes; sisters, Dora May, Frances Kitchen and Helen Bennett and her brother, Peter Ketels.
