George Don Parker, 85, Ada OK, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at a local hospital. The Chickasaw Honor Guard conducted military honors, and the Ada Lodge #119 AF & AM conducted masonic rites, at his graveside service. Mr. Parker was born September 30, 1925, in Normangee TX to Richard Ira and Bert Joe Farris Parker. He and his family moved to Ada in 1935 where he attended Willard grade school and graduated from Ada High School. He also attended the University of Oklahoma and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Billie Rose Hays in 1948. She preceded him in death on September 7, 1998. Mr. Parker was the Task Force Director of off-shore drilling operations for Gulf Oil Corp. until his retirement. He was a 50-year member of the Ada Lodge #119 AF & AM and the Scottish Rite. Mr. Parker moved back to Ada from Houston TX in 1998.

Survivors include his son Gary Don Parker and wife Sharon, Houston TX; granddaughter Heather Luscomb and husband Brian, The Woodlands, TX; great-granddaughter Victoria Hope Luscomb, The Woodlands; and special friends Ernie and Paula Sheppard, Ada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Billie Rose Parker; daughter Billie Carol; brother Joe Parker; and sister-in-law Kathryn Parker.
