Shirley Mansfield, 90, of Westfield, Iowa, died Friday July 26, 2002 at a Spencer hospital. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Westfield Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Steve Jewwett officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Manfield was born Aug. 21, 1911 in Westfield, Iowa the daughter of Stanley P. and Mabel A. (Harrington) Lilly. She received her teacher certificate from Moringside College and taught in rural Iowa and South Dakota Schools before teaching in Westfield. She married James Mansfield on Dec. 15, 1938 in Merrill, Iowa. Mr. Mansfield preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1992.
She was a member of Westfield Congregational Church, Westfield Women's Aid. In her free time she loved to watch sports, most of all baseball and basketball, working with her flower garden, camping and spending time with her family.
Survivirs include, two daughters, Sue and John Crosby of Lake Park, Kay Rosacker and Jim of Webb; a sister, Audrey Crouch of Spencer; a sister-in-law, Nella Lilly of Westfield; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildrn; several nieces and nephews.
She preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, Wallace Lilly, and sister, Evelyn Banks.
