Celia Ann (Stewart) Verhelst, 77, of Forgan OK, passed away on July 8, 2011. She was born on June 17, 1934, to Jack and Ruby (Reichert) Stewart in El Reno OK. Celia was raised near Edmond OK and attended the Deer Creek schools.

On December 24, 1963, Celia married Max Verhelst in Forgan. Celia was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and gardening with an array of plants and flowers. Crocheting was a hobby of Celia's, and last year she crocheted new afghans for all of her family. A true favorite of Celia's was farming; she loved working the farm and tending her animals. But of all she did her true love and enjoyment came from her grandchildren. Celia loved spending time with the children and going on nature walks (and drives) with them.

Celia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers Johnie, Guy, and Jerry Stewart.

She is survived by her sons Jack Johnson of Forgan, Jerry Verhelst of Kyle TX, Bill Johnson and wife Lisa of Oklahoma City OK, and Marion Johnson and wife Connie of San Antonio TX; daughters Kathy Tisdale and husband Gary of Kingfisher OK, and Darla Smith and husband Terry of Tyrone OK; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, sisters Darlene and husband Joe Lansden of Beaver OK, and Teresa Perkins of Liberal KS; brother Phillip Stewart of Forgan; and many nieces and nephews.

Celia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
