OBITUARY :
CAMERON MICHELLE "CAMIE" KING, 39, of Silver Spring, Md., died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md.

Born March 27, 1972, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of Shelia King and the late Henry P. Young.

Cameron graduated from South Hagerstown High School Class of 1990. She attended Hagerstown Community College, graduating with an associate degree. She continued her education, graduating from Hood College with a bachelor's and master's degree in psychology and was pursuing her doctorate's degree. She worked as an employee leader at CSC in Chantilly, Va., and was formerly a human resources manager for Charles Town Races and Slots. She also served her community by volunteering at the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Club. She was a member of Evangelical Cathedral in Upper Marlboro, Md.

In addition to her mother, Cameron is survived by one son, Marquez D. King; one brother, Phillip Young Jr. of Harrisburg, Pa.; one sister, Dawn Fields, of Raleigh, N.C.; one grandmother, Charlotte Saunders of Hagerstown; goddaughter, Kiah Henderson, and godson, Jaheem King; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her father, Cameron was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Frances "Fats" Saunders and Raymond Young; one grandmother, Beatrice Young; and one uncle, Victor Saunders.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Greater Campher Temple, King's Apostle Holiness Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Verna Wilson will officiate. Burial will be Rose Hill Cemetery.

The visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church.

The Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Bryan K. Kenworthy P.A., 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
