Nelda Jane Allbritton, 84, of Tullos, passed from this life on Sunday, October 4, 2009, at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches.
She was a beautician, a member of Tullos First Baptist Church and she loved crossword puzzles, cooking, and going to church.
Mrs. Allbritton was born March 11, 1925 in Tullos to the union of her parents, Jesse Burl and Pearl Allbritton.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, at Tullos First Baptist Church with the Revs. Pete McCarty, Huey Tarpley, and Scott Smith offi- ciating.
Interment followed in the New Union Baptist Church Cemetery north of Tullos under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. M. "Bugs" Allbritton, Jr.; her parents; two brothers, Gilbert Allbritton and Leonard Allbritton; and three sisters, Edith Mae Blackshear, Ethel Weaver, and Jesse Lou McCarty.
Survivors include one son, James Allbritton and wife Cheryl of Tullos; two daughters, Jo Anne Clark and husband Oscar of New Caney, TX and Jan Harrington and husband Rodney of Natchitoches; one brother, Earl Allbritton; two sisters, Pearl Allbritton LaCour and Bettye Jo Sandifer; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers were Randy McCarty, Terry McCarty, Herman McCarty, Sherman Mc- Carty, Rodney Blackshear, Lawson Weaver, Joe Sandifer, Lane Capps, and Buddy Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Howard McCarty, Monroe Wallace, and Quentin Sagdahl.
