Mame Sheehan history:
"The Robbs of Belfast, Ireland originally came over from Scotland and were of the Presbyterian faith. One of them, John, married Sarah Hanan. We used to see his Protestant bible up in the attic room that we children called 'the old stairs' in my grandmother's house at the old farm in Baileyville. John and Sarah lived at McLellands Lane on Peters Hill, Belfast, and raised a family of nine children. Sarah must have died in Ireland as I find no mention of her coming to America with John and their six children. We do not know the reason for their coming to this country but have heard of a scuffle over a spade when a man was struck in the chest and died as a result. It must have been John, the father, who struck the fatal blow as he often warned the boys to 'be careful boys, I struck one blow that I always regretted.' It seems the authorities allowed him to go free if he would leave the country. I believe this account came from Edwin Robb, who heard it from his father."
First referenced in Baileyville via his deed purchasing land there in 1835 from Otis Bridges for $300. References earlier deed instead of describing land.
1840 - Listed alone as age 60-70 in the census.
1850 - John Robb (84) a farmer born in Ireland, with his family consisting of John and Ann A. (both 30) from Ireland, John (11) and Sarah (6) born in Maine.
1860 - John Robb the 1st (95) born in Ireland cannot read or write, listed with the family of John Robb (2nd) age 46 with $400 land & $150 property listed as a common laborer from Ireland. His family consisted of Anestalin (42, Ire) his wife, Sarah (19) and John the 3rd (14) both born in Maine.
Calais Free Library has the Calais Cemetery Records which shows a listing of 28 Sep 1861 for John Robb of Down Co, Ireland at age 98 buried in the Catholic section of the cemetery. This has been confirmed by a copy of the record from them.

His children were James, Patrick, Mary, Hugh, Catherine, Francis, Sarah, John, Thomas and Alexander.
