Funeral services will be Friday at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem. Burial will be in the Moravian Cemetery.
Bennett was born Nov. 17, 1895 in Edwards County, the son of William and Margaret Barnhart Bennett. He married Dora Markman March 22, 1916 in Edwards County. She preceded him in death Sept. 23, 1971.
He was a farmer and a member of the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Virginia Wallace, of Paris, Blanche Reid, of Mesa, Az, and Betty Seals, of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; a daughter, Norma Strine, three brothers, Ellis, George and Gilbert Bennett, three sisters, Laura Miller, Letha Reckling and Edith Greathouse.
