Professor Theophilus Parsons, for a long period professor of law in Harvard college, died at Cambridge aged eigthy-five years. He was the oldest son of the late Chief Justice Parsons, of Massachusetts. The deceased graduated from Harvard in 1815, among the classmates having been Jared Sparks and John G. Palfrey. He practice law at Taunton, served in the legislature and in 1847 became Dane professor of law at Harvard. He started the United States Literary Gazette in 1825 and became the associate editor of the Galaxy in 1827. Among the books written by him are "Denns (sic) Homo," "The Infinite and Emite (sic)" and "The Law of Contracts."
