Mrs. Davis was born on Nov. 13, 1886, in Brigham City, Utah, a daughter of Dan W. and Barbara Thorn Walker. She received her education at Ricks College, Idaho State College, University of Utah and Utah State College.
She was married to John H. Davis in Rigby on June 1, 1916. Mr. Davis preceeded her in death in 1947.
Mrs. Davis first began teaching school in the Rigby and Rexburg areas before moving to Ririe where she taught school for 13 years.
She had more than 30 years of experience as a teacher when she retired when she was 69 years old. She then converted the basement of her home into a kindergarten where she taught pupils in the Ririe area.
Besides teaching she had been active in civic and community affairs. She was a member of a garden club, the Federated Ririe Study Club, the First Presbyterian Church of Idaho Falls, Henrietta chapter No. 21, Order of Eastern Star. She was a past president of the Ririe P-TA and was president and helped to organize the Ririe Band Mothers. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Idaho Falls.
Survivors include two sons, Dan W. Davis and Wesley P. Davis, two daughters, Miss Barbara Davis and Miss Mary Davis, six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and six step-grandchildren all of Ririe; a sister, Mrs. Maud Lowry of Denver.
