Mrs. Josie Akin, 84, died at her home on Rt. 3, July 26 [1963] after a 4 month illness. Mrs. Akin was a life long resident of Green Co. and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Grimes, Elizabethtown; 2 sons, Arthur and Shreve Akin, both of Greensburg; a brother, Sam R. Walker, also of Greensburg and 2 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Summersville Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28 with burial in the Bennett Cemetery. Rev. D.L. Druin, Rev. Eutra Hammett, and Rev. V.A. Jones officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Alvin Akin, Amos Bloyd, Wilton McCubbin, Bill Floyd, Alonza Larimore and Frank Foster. - supplied by Francie Ede.
