She was born 1 February 1840 in Lake county, Ohio to S.K. Abell born in New York and Lydia Proctor born in Vermont. She was a housewife who died at age 79 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was buried in Rio on 23 December 1919 by undertaker, William Horton of Galesburg. No informant listed.

Rio, Illinois, 22 December – Mrs. William Fritz was born in Leroy, Lake county, Ohio, 1 February 1840 and passed away at her home, 20 December 1919. Mrs. Fritz is the eldest of ten children, seven girls and three boys. She moved with her parents to Carroll county, Illinois, two years later they moved to a farm near Galesburg. Mrs. Fritz was united in marriage to William Fritz, 2 August 1856. They resided on a frm in Briggers Corner and later on a farm near North Henderson. In 1895 they retired from farm life and built a fine home in Rio. Mrs. Fritz was a staunch Methodist for 68 years and an active church worker. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary August 3rd. She leaves to mourn her death besides her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Schreiber and Miss Carrie, two sons, Ira and Fred, Asa passed to the great beyond on 1 August 1918, one granddaughter, Miss Blanche Fritz who had made her home with her grandparents since childhood, besides other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal Church at 3 o'clock. Reverend Vandettum will conduct the services.
