Madeline Ciemnoczolowski, 92, of Julesburg, CO passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Julesburg. Madeline was born at home on the farm on August 18, 1924 to Cyriel and Barbara (Schmidt) Lanckriet.


A Memorial Mass was held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Julesburg with Father Michael O'Brien celebrating. Inurnment followed at Hillside Cemetery.


She got her 8th grade education at the District 8 Country school south of Ovid, CO.


Madeline married Emil Ciemnoczolowski and the two farmed while Madeline also worked for 25 years at the Sedgwick County Hospital & Rest Home as the head cook.


Madeline is survived by her sister Esther & husband Doug Kraus of Madrid, NE, sister-in-law Betty Lanckriet, nephews Tim Kraus, Mark Kraus, Mike Lanckriet, Rob Lanckriet, nieces Debra Kraus, Christine Wendell, Kim Betz, Shay Lynn (Lanckriet) Ramsey.


Madeline was preceded in death by her husband Emil in 1992, parents Cyriel and Barbara Lanckriet, brothers Leo, Bob, Renae and George, and sister Mary Abts.


Memorials can be made in Madeline's name to the St. Anthony's Catholic Church for Masses c/o Esther Kraus PO Box 97, Madrid, NE 69150. Austin-Tennant Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
