Dee Wayne Fisher June 19, 1943 - July 2, 2011 Dee Wayne Fisher was born in Bakersfield on June 19, 1943 to Blaine and Josephine Fisher. He attended Hawthorne and Franklin Elementary Schools, Emerson Junior High, and was in the graduating class of 1961 at Bakersfield High School. He also attained an A.S. degree from Bakersfield College. Dee married his high school sweetheart, (Vicki Honeycutt) on April 11, 1970. Their marriage was filled with many blessings. Dee's greatest joy was witnessing the birth of his two children: Jeffrey Dee Fisher (spouse - Linzy) and Lynndee Coleen Fisher Jacobson (spouse - Eddy). Dee retired from Pacific Gas & Electric in 2001. He loved fishing and "gaming" with his friend David G. Sampson. Dee cherished his friendships with Larry Geye, Walt Rush, Monte Canaday, William Oroz, and many other lifelong friends. Dee served in the United States Army and was honored to be a military veteran. He belonged to the Great Choctaw Nation and was proud of his Native American heritage. Dee is survived by his wife, Vicki, son Jeffrey, daughter Lynndee, grandson Garrett Dee Fisher, and granddaughter Molly Darlene Fisher. He loved his daughter-in-law, Linzy, and on June 17, 2011 welcomed his new son-in-law Eddy into his fold. Dee loved Sunday family dinners, traveling with his children, participating in school activities, fishing, and gambling. He passed away at home on July 2, 2011, with his family by his side. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn, (River Blvd.) on Thursday, July 7 at 9:00 a.m. Donations in Dee's name may be made to the American Cancer Society . www.bakersfield.com/obits
