Lester J. Ferry, age 71 of Two Rivers, Wis. died unexpectedly Friday evening, October 26, 2001 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a m. on Tuesday Oct 30, 2001 at St.Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Larry Seidl, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery,
Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Two Rivers VFW and American Legion Posts.

Lester was born July 18, 1930, in Two Rivers, son of the late Earl and Marie Sladky Ferry. He attended school in Two Rivers.

On December 22, 1947 he entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict, until 1951. He was a member of the 24th Infantry Division, 1st. Battalion. 21st Regiment and Company B. He received numerous service metals(sic), including the Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and a Bronze Star.

On September 12, 1953, he was married to Rose Ott, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple celebrated 48 years of marriage this past September.
Lester was employed with Kornely Dairy for 21 years, and later with Kelvinator Co. of Manitowoc. He also worked part-time at E. V. M. after his retirement.

Lester was a member of the Two Rivers VFW Post #1248; he enjoyed time spent with family, friends, and especially his grandkids. He will be greatly missed
by his family.



Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacy, three
brothers, Alvin, Richard, and Raymond, and one sister, Sandy Ouradnik.

Relatives and friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers,
from 5-8 p.m. on Monday evening, and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, until leaving for
the church at 9:45 a.m. A parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday
at the funeral home, led by Sr. Dorothy.
