Blanche, or "Ban" as she was known in the family, always self-identified as being a Marine. She served during WW1 with the Marine Reserves in the District of Columbia. It was not until years after the war ended that the service of the women Reserves was acknowledged.

Her sister Anne Irvine Lyman (wife of Gen. Charles H. Lyman II) is buried in California, at Memorial # 95743206.

Burial location or story of their brother Robert Lloyd (11 Feb. 1878-18 Sept. 1940) remains undocumented, other than these notes of dates as written by Ban. Other family members described him as "missing" or "not heard from."

For years, "Aunt Ban," as she was known in the family, ran antique shops in the Downingtown PA area. She also investigated and shared genealogy, assisting another relative, Ellen Beale, on development of the book, The Genealogy of David Jones, which is available online and is an ancestral line of her family.

In the flyleaf of her own copy of the book (into which she added pencilled notes, throughout), she listed this chronology of her earlier addresses:

1900 1600 16th St. [ Washington, D.C. ]

1901 1311 Conn[ecticut] Ave.

1902 2117 Bancroft Place

1902-1903 9011 16th St. [ Washington, D.C. ]

1903 Highlands - (hard to read...) Brentwood (?)

1904 [ and 1905, 1906 entries ] Norwood - Bethesda Md.

1907 [ and entries for 1908, 1909, 1910, 1911, the last entry ] Parkesburg, Pa. [ Chester County ]

Ban was not married.
