PINE ISLAND – A Mass of Christian burial will be offered for Alice S. Collins at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Pine Island with the Rev. Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Island Cemetery.
Mrs. Collins, 82, a longtime Pine Island homemaker, died Wednesday at Rochester Methodist Hospital where she had been a patient the past two weeks.
The former Alice S. Kelly was born Dec. 30, 1900, in Lawler, Iowa, and married Phillip Collins there July 10, 1922. They lived in Spring Valley for five years before moving to Pine Island in 1927. Mr. Collins was a produce buyer and preceded her in death in 1965.
Survivors include a son, Donald J. of Pine Island; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Phyllis) Lambo of Brookfield, Wis., and 17 grandchildren. A son, three brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Mahler Funeral Home in Pine Island where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
