Brittney Leann Smith, 21, of Sidney, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 en route to Wilson Memorial Hospital following a car accident. She was born on October 25, 1989 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of Jeremy and Rachel (Smith) Atkinson of Sidney, who survive.
Other survivors include her two children; Jayden Izais Atkinson/Shortridge and Keira Ralynn Montgomery Ritter, both of Sidney, two brothers; Devon Atkinson and Cody Workman, and one sister, Olivia Atkinson, all three of Sidney, grandparents; M.C. Day of Sidney, and Don and Kathy Nelson of Piqua, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister, Pamela J. Mays, maternal grandparents; Bobby H. Smith, and Jewell Day, one aunt, Bessie Schellenberg, paternal grandfather, John Atkinson, and step-grandfather, Shirl Trimble.
Brittney was a stay at home mom. She was a life-long member of Sidney Apostolic Temple.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., with Pastor Mark Hina officiating. Burial will be at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
