MINERAL WELLS - Fritz Leroy Ballenger of Mineral Wells, a retired building contractor and farmer, died Monday at his home after a long illness. He was 73.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells. Burial will be in Willow Pond Cemetery, in Palo Pinto County.
Mr. Ballenger was a lifelong resident of Palo Pinto County. He was a Baptist.
Survivors: Wife, Mattie Ballenger of Mineral Wells; four sons, Fritz E. "Sonny" Ballenger of Mineral Wells, Charles "Buddy" Ballenger of Lubbock, Billy Ballenger of Haslet, and Roy Ballenger of Perrin; daughter, Bobbie Hall of Euless; two stepdaughters, Evadean Simpson of Mineral Wells and Betty Swink of Corsicana; brother, J.L. Ballenger of Gatesville; sister, Ida Mae "Peggy" Spurlock of Santo; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
