She was listed as age 6 with her parents and her twin sister Josie and Bennett, age 2, in the 1875 Ottawa City, Franklin County, Kansas State Census. The old death register shows that she died of congestion and is buried near her Uncle Marcus, an infant cousin, and her grandmother, Phebe Mott Messenger. There is also a Josie Mott listed in the Hope Cemetery burial records, but it is unknown whether this was the twin sister of Jessie. Josie Mott married George Fowler in 1893.
