CIVIL WAR VETERAN

Adam Fletcher Baird was born in September of 1849 in the state of Illinois. He is the son of William and Susanna (Stewart) Baird.

On 12 February 1964 Adam was inducted into the United States Army, serving in Company I, 66th Regiment, Illinois Infantry during the Civil War. Adam was discharged on 7 July 1864 at Camp Logan, Kentucky as a Private.

Later, on 2 September 1866, at Olney in Illinois, Adam married Lauretta Mundy. Together they are believed to have had nine children, Mary C., Flora "Arillia", Carrie A., William Allen., Mattie Mae, and Laura S., Cora May,Charles H. and a infant boy Baird. Lauretta passed away in 1905.

According to the marrage certificate for Adam's third marriage, it lists that it was his third marriage. No record can be found to list his second marriage.

But, on 7 April 1914, Adam married for the third time, to Della Gorman in Seattle. They later were divorced, on 1 January 1920.

At the age of seventy four, on 17 March 1922, Adam passed away.
