Student Aviator Thomas W. Eden [Eaton] is dead and Student J.J. Mitchel, Jr., is in the Naval Hospital suffering from serious injuries, as a result of a collision between two aeroplanes while attempting to make a landing at the Key West Training Station Friday morning. When the accident occurred the two planes were fully one hundred feet high and the machines collided in a wedge shape, with such force that each became uncontrollable.
