He came to the United States in 1902 and settled in Seattle. He was a painter by trade. He married Ragna E Tingelstad from Norway in 1911 in Seattle and together they had 3 children. During World War II, he was a commander in the Merchant Marines. He passed away 31 Mar 1950 in Seattle, King County, Washington.
