Rachel H. Gillespie, 78, of 130 Houston Mountain Road, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at her home.

Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Hoyt and Sue Goley Harbin and the wife of the late B.F. Gillespie.

Mrs. Gillespie was a member of Renfrew Baptist Church, Travelers Rest.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Pete and Lisa Dionne; two daughters, Yvonne Smart of New Hampshire, and Trish Medlin of Laurens; two stepdaughters, Pat Roberts and Judy Styles of Travelers Rest; three sisters, Jonelle Tollison of Seneca, Swanee Smith of Westminster, and Nell Lewis of Clover; a brother, Bobby Harbin of Westminster; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, a stepson, Benny Gillespie, and a brother, Bud Harbin predeceased Mrs. Gillespie.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at Renfrew Baptist Church, with entombment in Grand View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family is at the home of her son, 127 Houston Mountain Road.
