Jeremy Michael Nevils Porter, 19, of Independence, MO died in an auto accident on June 26, 2011 in Muskogee County, OK. Jeremy was born on June 6, 1992 in KCMO. Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, Jeremy graduated from William Chrisman High School in 2010. He was an honor student, in the marching, pep and jazz bands and a member of the cross country and track team. He was a proud 2009 recipient of the Wm. McCoy Award and received the Presidential Award for Academic Achievement. He was a talented saxophone player and avid music lover who left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Jeremy received numerous scholarships and recently completed his freshman year at the University of Missouri, Columbia where he was a Marching Mizzou and member of the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha (Sinfonia). Jeremy is survived by his parents Jennifer and Karl Porter, Sister Brooke Porter, Brother Jared Porter, Baby Brother Sam Porter, Nana Marilyn Nevils and Unkie Eric Nevils. Jeremy is also survived by many loving family members both maternal and paternal. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Cremation will follow the services.
