Transferred to 3d Battalion GA Sharpshooters. Listed on a Company Muster Roll of 3rd Battalion Sharp Shooters Ga for May & June 1863 as William H Witcher, Pvt Co C. and listed as "present" through April 9, 1865 when surrendered by Robert E Lee, along with the rest of the Army of Northern Virgina, at Appomattox Court House.
