William was son of George Morris Foster and Ellen Bates Foster. He married Lillian Estelle Teetsell. They had three children Lester George Foster, Nellie May Foster and Herbert William (Knute) Foster. He had 5 grand children and several great-grandchildren.
He worked with his father at the Aux Sable Locks on the I * M Canal, then he had an A & P Store in Morris for a while, and later worked at the Morris Paper Mill until retirement. After retirement, he refinished and caned chairs and sold greeting cards.
He loved and enjoyed his family. He was loved and is missed.
