Betty Lee Shirley Hankey, age 88, of Bel Air, MD, died on Friday, April 2, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 22, 1926, in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lester William and Viola Mae Rogers Shirley.
She was a Methodist. Betty graduated from Elkridge High School in Elkridge, MD. She was a waitress with the Arbor Restaurant affiliated with the Bel Air Bowl. Betty enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Beichler and Patricia Nave both of Bel Air, MD and Penny Schuster of Abingdon, MD, two sons, Dewey “Skip” Parker of Winding, GA and Richard Hankey of Ft. Myers, FL, fourteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Morris Edward Hankey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 5377 Martinsburg Road, Berkeley Springs, WV. Interment will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
