Nicholia Olsen was born April 3rd 1856 in Denmark. He came to America about 43 years ago. he was married to Kristina Petersen in the year 1885. They lived in Omaha a short time and later moved to Fort Calhoun, where they lived for about 11 years then they moved to a farm four miles west of Florence until 1912 when he retired and came to Omaha living at 3008 North Twenty-fourth Street since that time. Mr. Olsen was a well and healthy man, but since May 1929 has been confined to his bed. For the last eight weeks he has been at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. D. Pierce, 2716 Amos Ave. He passed away at 4:25 a. m. Tuesday November 12th.
Mr. Olsen was a man of pleasant disposition and made a host of friends who mourn his departure and join his wife, children, sisters and other relatives and friends in gratitude for his life and who treasure such memories that find their expression in the well-known thought "The dead yet he speaketh". He was a thoughtful and affectionate husband, a kind and sympathetic father, a helpful and considerate brother.

The surviving relatives are: his wife, Mrs. Olsen, Omaha, Charlie H. Olsen, Mrs. M. D. Pierce, Mrs. Milo Simpson all of Omaha, and Mrs. Todd Miller, Tecmah, NE and Harry E. Olsen, Washington all children and nine grandchildren. A sister, Anna Anderson of Omaha and two sisters in Denmark. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon from Harry K. Swanson's Mortuary. Rev. A. B. Vandertippe of Florence Presbyterian church conducting the service. Mrs. John Price, accompanied by Mrs. Hazel Reynolds pianist furnishing three beautiful solo selections. Internment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery
