American Revolution Ancestors.

Generation 1: Lazerous Henson the 2nd, was born in Stafford County, Va. in 1752. He entered military service during the American Revolution from Chatham County, North Carolina. He applied for a service pension in 1832 while living in Carroll County, Georgia, and died in Paulding Co., Georgia in 1839. William Douglas Henson descends from Lazerous Henson's son Aaron.

Generation 2: Aaron Henson and his wife, Mary. Aaron died in Carroll County, Georgia in 1835. They had at least 5 daughters and one son, O.A. Henson. The sisters of O.A. were Emily Henson who married Thomas Rabun Jr., Rebecca Henson who married Leonard Fullbright, Susan Henson who married Arthur Whisendhunt, Elizabeth Henson who married Murrell Franklin, and Rittes S. Henson who married Bird Franklin.

Generation 3: O.A. Henson and his wife Martha Cartwright who was the daughter of Wilson Cartwright Sr. and Martha Ragain/Reagan. O..A. Henson was born April 1, 1812 in North Carolina. Died March 25, 1892 in East Texas and is buried along with many other family descendants in the Perryville, Cemetery in Wood County, Texas. O.A. was a Mason and moved his membership to Perryville, Texas. They moved to Texas around 1865-66. O.A. and Martha were married December 24, 1846 in Carroll County, Georgia. They had 10 children, five sons and five daughters.

1.Aaron Wilson Henson 1847-1933 married Louisa Brown, the daughter of M.D.Brown and Salina Jane Sellers. Both are buried in the Perryville Cemetery, Wood Co. Texas.

2.Mary Elizabeth Henson 1849 Carroll Co. Ga. Died 1931. Mary married Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Bailey on November 10, 1871 in Wood Co. Texas. Jeff was born June 16, 1851 in DeKalb Co. Ga.,He was the son of John Bailey and Hulda Houseworth. John and Hulda Bailey are buried in Smyrna Cemetery Wood Co. Texas. Mary and Thomas "Jeff" Bailey are buried in McCauley,Texas where they died.

3.Martha Jen "Mattie" Henson was born March 19, 1852 in Carroll Co., Ga., and she married Laurent Francis Hallonquist January 9, 1876 in Upshur County Texas. He was the son of Dr. Fredrick Charles Hallonquist and Vernona L. "Nona" Bonner. Both are buried in the Perryville Cemetery, in Wood County Texas.

4.Oren Austin Herny Henson born Augsut 8, 1855 in Carroll Co., Ga., he was married 3 times.1st Oct 9, 1879 to Emily Catherine Darden she and their one child died and are buried in the Enon Cemetery, Upshur County, Texas. He married second to Leadora Alice Frazier. They had two sons and a daughter that grew to adulthood but Leadora and an infant died and are burind in the Perryville Cemetery. Austin Henry as he became known married the third time to Nancy Caroline Lantrip, known as Carrie on June 23, 1894. Carrie and Austin Henery had six sons and one daughter. Austine Henry died Jan 13, 1911, buried Perryville Cemetery. Carrie later Married a William Scott Poe whoe died in 1938. He is buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Carrie is died July 3, 1951 and is buried in the Perryville Cemetery along with other family members.
I'm going to include the names of the other children of O.A. but this Oren Austin Henry Henson is the father of our Cloddie Henson so I don't want to go into too much information regarding the others.

5.William Jefferson "Billy" Henson Dec. 7, 1857 Temple Ga. He was married 2, first Mary Margaret Wiedman called Martha.They had 4 sons. 2nd wife Cora Onita Smith born Dec. 1, 1879, she died April 24, 1939. They had one son that grew to adulthood and one who died young.William Jefferson "Billy" Henson died April 24, 1939, and is buried in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas. The tombstone reads that his death occurred June 12, 1939.

6. Joseph Ervin "Joe" Henson born Nov. 28,1858 in Carroll Co. Ga.and was married to Safronia "Fronie" Cartwright September 9, 1886 Camp Co. Texas. She was born Jan,1, 1868 in Georgia, and was the daughter of Willie Cartwhright and Martha M. Swinney. Joe died Oct 15, 1944 and Fronie died March 26, 1947 and both are buried in the Enon Cemetery, Upshur County Texas.

7.Rebecca "Becky" Henson born April 8, 1860 Georgia. She married John W. Duke Dec. 28, 1880 Camp County Texas. John Duke was born Aug. 6, 1854 Carroll Co. Ga. Her name is listed as Beca on the marriage license. She died March 5, 1928 at Lafayette in Upshur Co. He died Feb. 1, 1926 in Gilmer, they are both buried in the Perryville Cemetery.

8.Sarah Hampton "Sallie" Henson born July 5, 1864 in Georgia. She married Thomas Dolphus Holder Aug. 16, 1885 in Camp County, Texas. He was born Jan. 31, 1855 Cherokee County, Texas. Sallie died June 10, 1928. He died Jan.31, 1931 Winnsboro,they are both buried in the Grice Cemetery.

9.James A. Henson Born Jan.4,1868 and died Jan.14, 1868.

10.Ida Victoria Henson born Feb.4, 1871 Perryville, Texas. Married Thomas Elijah Bivins who was born Aug. 5, 1870 in Wise County, Texas. They married Jan.14,1892 in Perryville, Texas. Thomas was the son of Cyrus P. Bivins and Eliza Ann Brisco. Ida died Sept, 22, 1948 at Mt. Gilead, Upshur Co. Texas. Thomas died in March of 1951. They are both buried in the Soules Chapel Cemetery, Unshur County. Texas.

O.A. Henson 1855 and his 3rd wife Nancy Caroline Lantrip who was known as Carrie. They had Six sons and one daughter as follows:

1. Cloddie Henson born May 5, 1895 married Nov.21, 1915 to Lillie Fargason who was born July 3, 1894. Cloddie died July 28, 1960 at John Sealy Hospital, Galveston, Texas. They are both buried at the Perryville Cemetery .
Cloddie and Lillie had two sones and one daughter.
A. William Douglas Henson and his wife Laura Armendy "Bobbie" Jeffrey. Both buried in the Perryville Cemetery, Perryville Texas.
B.Jewel Dean Henson born June 14, 1920 Married Grady Murphy Blount.
C.Alton Ray Henson Born Feb.28, 1922, married Greta Snook.
