Bartie John Robinson, resident of Indianapolis, Indiana and former resident of Woodruff County, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 1985 at his residence there. He was 83 and died following a brief illness.

Funeral services were conducted at two p.m. Monday, October 28 at the Pumpkin Bend Assembly of God Church with Rev. Leonard Hodges, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was in the Pumpkin Bend Cemetery near McCrory. Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robinson was born in Woodruff County, May 28, 1912 the son of the late Freemont and Mary Robinson. He attended local schools and was married to the former Miss Dorothy Lethel Shue, who preceded him in death May 19, 1981. Mr. Robinson was a afrmer in the McCrory area for many years before moving to Indianapolis 33 years ago. He was employed as a machine operator by Colors, Incorporated in Indianapolis for 23 years before his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the Missionary Full Christian Church in Indianapolis.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sirley Fowler of Lansing, Ill.; Mrs. Joyce Adcock and Mrs. Wanda Ward, both of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Winford and Mrs. Madie Browning, both of McCrory, Mrs. Virginia Odom of Wynne; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Billy Joe Henderson, Bobby Henderson, Freddie James, Farris Powell and Harvey Shue.
