Joseph Alan 'Joe' Ison, 56, of Ashland, died Thursday afternoon following an extended illness.
Joe was born March 8, 1954, at Boyd County, KY., a son of Amos and Evelyn Hall Ison of Westwood, Ky.
Joe was a former construction worker and truck driver and formerly served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Ashland Eagles Post 1476 Daniel Boone Arie, the Ashland Moose Lodge and Ashland AmVets.
Surviving in addition to his parents include, three daughters: Randi Ison of Flatwoods, Ky., Nikki Griffith of Ashland, Ky., and Toni Shope of Ironton, Ohio. His lifelong partner, Linda Parsons, a brother, Glen Ison of Bellefonte, and a sister, Marisa Johnson of Ashland,Ky., six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 11, 2011 at Noon at Dixon Cemetery in Westwood, Kentucky.
There is no visitation.
