Lowell was the youngest child of four children born to Dale Burkholder Poyser and Mary Elizabeth Lindsay. He married Josephine Phend (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecile Phend). They had four children:

Sharon Rose
Wayne Allen
Lowell Mac, Jr.

Lowell married a second time to Ruth Elaine Marriott. They had three children:

Ronald Eugene
James Lee
Daniel Lynn

LOWELL M. POYSER, 81, of Churubusco, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, 5:15 a.m., at his residence. He was born June 17, 1922, in Noble County, the son of Dale B. Poyser and Mary E. Lindsey Poyser. He married Ruth E. Marriott Poyser on July 22, 1950, in Albion; she survives him. He graduated from Wolf Lake High School and attended Purdue University. He retired in 1982 from International Harvester, where he had worked as a process engineer. He was a member of American Legion Post 82 of Fort Wayne, Churubusco Masonic Lodge 515, where he had served as Past Master. "He enjoyed his family, bowling, golf and wintering in Florida." He is survived by his wife, Ruth Poyser of Churubusco; one daughter, Sharon (Jim) Spangle; five sons, Ron Poyser, Jim (Sharon) Poyser, Dan (Nancy) Poyser, Jerry (Pat) Poyser, Bud (Barbara) Poyser; one sister, Retha Smith of Michigan; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and one sister. Service is 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Orr Funeral Home, Churubusco, with the Rev. Rick VanHorn officiating. Calling hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, with masonic services at 7 p.m., and from noon until service time Saturday. Burial will follow service Saturday in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, with military graveside rites.
