On Tuesday, July 5, 2011, the Lord changed the breath of his life into a final sleep for his faithful servant, Vickie Miller Wilcox. She was born on December 25, 1959, in Roanoke, to Shirley Clements Miller and the late Alsee Miller. She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Herbert Pannell Jr. She was employed with Allstate Insurance Company for 33 years. She was also a devoted member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Those left to celebrate her life and memories are one daughter, Shenita Miller; one son, Dwayne Lafawne Miller; her mother, Shirley Miller; two sisters, Laverne (Leroy) Lark and Debra Pannell; two half sisters, Eloise Nelson and Deloise (Rev. James) Lark; three nieces, Tiffany Pannell, Latoya and Lakeisha Lark; great-nieces, Lakya and Lenaysia Lark, Latayja Bell Shanta Saunders and Alicia Taylor, all of Roanoke; nephew, little puff Pannell; and a host of aunts uncles, relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at noon on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Pilgrim Baptist Church. The interment will follow in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may call at Serenity on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 2 to 8 p.m. for viewing.
