Son of William and Mary Kinsley Davidson; William was born in North Carolina and Mary was born in Georgia. They were married 5 April 1820 in Warren Co. Ga.

John Wesley married Emaline Spence 19 May 1842 in Decatur Co. Ga. Known children were: John Felin, Littleton, Leaston, Archibald (Archie), James F., Mary Ellen, Florida Palmira and John H.

William and John's families moved to Gadsen, Fla. in 1845, living there until 1853 when they moved by wagon to Texas, settling about four miles West of Edom in 1854. William was a carpenter and John Wesley was a farmer.

John Wesley and three older sons enlisted in the Confederate Army; the oldest son, John Felin was killed in Tennesee during the war.
