TORBETT, AVERY RUDOLPH, age 85, of Madisonville, peacefully went home to be with Jesus 1:05 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2011 at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by wife, Neva Mae Mildred Belcher Torbett; infant great-granddaughter, Bridgett Bibee, parents, Isaac and Birdie Torbett; sisters, Kate McIntyre, Irene Lance, Vitta Rhea Harris; brothers, Bill, Leon and Tom Torbett. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and J.C. Pilkey, of Sweetwater, Toni and Gary Watson, Glenda and Perry Lance, Sharon and Sam Allmon, Tammie and Lee Green, all of Madisonville; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great- grandchildren; sisters, Elmyra Ditmore and Viola Matoy, of Madisonville. Funeral 2:00 p.m. Monday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Gerald Lynn, Rev. Tim Gray officiating. Interment will be in Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park with military honors by Sweetwater V.F.W. Goldstar Post 5156 and D.A.V. Chapter 93. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
