CHESTER A. GALLETT
Chester A. Gallett, 62, of 391 North Branch St., died this morning at Putnam Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He had retired two years ago after being employed at the former H.T. Cushman Mfg. Co. in North Bennington for 37 years.
The son of Alfred and Ada (Adams) Gallett, he was born in Bennington Aug 3, 1910 and his education had been received in local schools. He married the former Gladys Zepka in North Adams, Mass., Sept 20, 1932.
Mr. Gallett was recognized as a skilled workman in the furniture field. He was fond of outdoor life and sports.
Survivors besides his wife are two sons, Edward C. and Donald F. Gallett, both of Pownal; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Thomas of Miami, Fla.; thre grandchildren; one brother, Francis Gallett of Bennington; one sister, Mrs. William (Helen) Krawczyk of Bennington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday at 11 am with a prayer and in St. Francis de Sales Church at 11:30, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Wake service will be at 8.
Burial will be in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home offices.
