Mrs. Elizabeth James Cardwell, 79 of 1069 Lincoln St. died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday at her residence...incident to age.
She was born April 19, 1879 in Salt Lake City a daughter of Elizabeth Newton and Thomas James. She was reared and educated here. On February 5, 1891 she was married to Amos Cardwell (later sealed)in the Logan Temple. After their marriage they reside in Salt Lake City.
For many years Mrs. Cardwell was active in Relief Society work as a teacher. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include four sons; Gordon J., Ralph A., Clarence T., and Alden Roy Cardwell, all of Salt Lake City. Three daughters; Mrs. Elsie Burt, Brigham City; Mrs. Sylvia Worden, Mrs. Edna Mantle, Salt Lake City; 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas James, Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sisters, Mrs. Lilly Weber, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Alice Vincent, Salt Lake City.
