Cemeteries, Vol. II (Eastern Half)" book and Thomas' burial site is
listed there. It says,
"Map 129/ Land District 5/ Land Lot #143:
Thomas Duke Cemetery:
This cemetery could not be located in 2004 (when the cemeteries
book was updated). However, according to Thomas Duke's will on file in
the Carroll County Courthouse (Will Book "A", pg. 84, dated Sept.,
1866), Thomas Duke set aside one half-acre of land for his burial
place."
The listing in the 1983 Cemetery Book, pg. 231, simply says:
"Duke, Thomas
born c.1800, died c.1866
Primitive Baptist Clergy"
So...Thomas is probably buried somewhere on Lot #143 (which is
202.5 acres), probably not far from his homeplace,

Thomas Duke one of Gerogia early settlers,came from Orange County North Carolina when a young lad of a boy,settled near Carrollton Ga.
Thomas Duke was one of Georgia grate fighters widley knowned as Bully of Georgia which was recognized as the Pony Club Fighters in Indian time before the Civil War,After his last fight he refused the Champion Ship,for a worth call who became a Primitive Baptist Minister was Ordained in the Fourty Third year of his life.
Had under his jurisdiction several churches among them was Masadonia,Holly Springs,Sand Hill, & Cross Plains.
About the year of Eighteen Hundred and Forty Five Anti Missonary spirit culmated,brother Thomas Duke was a strong beleiver and became more satisfied that his calling was to serve as a Minister,was ordained in year of Eighteen Hundred and Thirty Six.
Gives his history borned July 2,Eighteen Hundred an 02.in the state of North Carolina,states his father Taylor Duke was a noted man and a real citizen,was Sheriff of Orange County North Carolina also a Captain of the Malitia.
Brother Thomas Duke now serving Congress year of Eighteen Hundred and Sixty one.
