Christine Jones Holt, 66, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 30, 2011, in Chattanooga, TN.
She was was born on September 17, 1944, in Vienna, Ga. to the late Lonnie and Gladys Jones.
Christine accepted Christ at a young age and was a long-time member of Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church.
She retired from DuPont after working 39 1/2 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Christine leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing a very loving and devoted husband of 29 years, Herman Holt; two daughters, Dana (Brian) Jones-Womble, of Chattanooga, and Fina Franklin-Montgomery, of Dalton, Ga.; three sons, Herman K. Holt, of Chattanooga, Edwin Holt, of Atlanta, and Terrance (Ava) Holt, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandson, Willie R. West, of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Brianna Womble, Chattanooga; brother, Lonnie "Chicago" Jones, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three sisters, Rebecca Jones, Miami, Fla., Annette Bunion-Jones, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Valerie Jones, Lauderhill, Fla.; stepmother, Alma Jones, Lauderhill, Fla.; sister-in-law, Willie Mae Williams, Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Nelson Bell, Chattanooga; goddaughter, Sharon (Joseph) Govan; and two godchildren, Joia and Jamal Govan, all of Chattanooga; devoted cousin, Lessie Harper, of Arabi, Ga.; and a host of other cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and some very devoted friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Greater Tucker Baptist Church with the Rev. M.T. Billingsley officiating.
Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, Chattanooga, TN.
