Mr. Earnest H. Copeland, Jr., age 89, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Friday, March 11, 2011. He was born July 10, 1921 in Carroll County, Georgia, to the late Lilly Grizzard Copeland and E.H. Copeland, Sr.

Mr. Copeland was a dairy farmer and was owner of Happy Veal Flowermill for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Shoemaker Copeland; daughter, Linda Copeland; brothers, Bill Knott, Carl Harris and Dillard Harris.

Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Steve & Valerie Copeland of Whitesburg; sisters, Clara Owensby and Opal Cates; grandchildren, Cheryl Thompson of Carrollton and Chad Copeland of New York; great grandchildren, Ryan Copeland of Whitesburg and Tyler Copeland of Carrollton; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 14, 2011 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12 PM until the funeral hour.
