Ann D. Richardson was Ann Dole Richardson, born in Auburn, NY 2 February 1822. Her father was Judge Joseph Lane Richardson and her mother Catherine Dole Richardson.

At the age of 19 she married Fernando Wood on 26 Apr 1841 in New York City.

They had six children:
Joseph Lane Richardson 'Josh' Wood (1842-1917)
Fernando Wood, Jr. (1844-1917)
Rebecca Wood (b. 1846)
Calhoun Wood (b. 1852)
Anna D. Wood (b. 1854)
and Catherine Richardson 'Kittie' Wood (1856-1928)
