John was the son of John Littleton and Leonor/Lenore Goddard. He married Nellie Skidmore Apr 6, 1818. After her death, he married her sister Talitha Skidmore Aug 26, 1826. Both John, Talitha and several other family members are buried in the Ison Cemetery (aka Wolford) Please contact me if you need directions to this cemetery.

John "Jessie" Littleton served in the War of 1812. His widow Tabitha received was receiving a pension as of 1879, Carter County, Kentucky. The middle name Jessie came from the research of Eula Thomas, most likely from family history from his granddaughter Amanda Gee Thomas who lived with the family for months at a time. There is also an outside chance it came from a genealogy researcher hired by her and her mother in the early 1980's. However, I have all her notebooks, returned research info, etc. and I tend to think it was the oral family history. The only supporting evidence that Jessie is correct is the fact that twin sons were named John and Jessie. (Barbara Bartlett Thomas)
