Robert Lee Moran (1834-1922) was the son of Robert Moran ( 1795-1846) & Rebecca Brummage Moran. Robert Lee Moran was born in the White Day Creek / Bunners Ridge area of Monongalia County, Virginia on a farm of abt 45 acres that his parents bought in 1826 and then they bought another 107 acres in 1837. In 1842 that area became Marion County, Virginia and then that area became Taylor County, Virginia in 1844. It was on 20 Jun 1863 that West Virginia became a state.

In 1846 his Father Robert Moran died of Typhoid fever and is buried on their farm on top of the mountain where the "Moran Cemetery" (AKA - Perry Moran Cemetery) is located.
